			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>A Turkish Bank has created one of the most succesful public relations stunts in Turkey.<span id="more-57"></span> The bank (whose founder is <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mustafa_Kemal_Atat%C3%BCrk" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Ataturk</a> (founder of Republic of Turkey)&#8217;s advertisement to commemorate Ataturk in the 69th anniversary of passing away (Nov.10, 1938) . This also became one of the best examples of cult marketing and advertising techniques.</p>
<p>By recreating an unforgettable memory in his life in black and white with a red rose appearing at the end, the bank managed to make people remember Ataturk in a good fashion while gathering positive feelings about the bank itself.  The video and the English translation of the conversation is below.</p>
<p>Ataturk and the boy is in a garden assumed to be in front of Ataturk&#8217;s residence. A thorn suddenly bleeds Ataturk&#8217;s finger and the boy is surprised,</p>
<p>Ataturk: &#8220;What happened child?</p>
<p>Child: &#8220;Do you also get stung from a thorn?&#8221;</p>
<p>Ataturk:&#8221; Don&#8217;t I get stung?&#8221;</p>
<p>Child:&#8221;Does your hand also bleed?&#8221;</p>
<p>Ataturk &#8220;Don&#8217;t I bleed?&#8221;</p>
<p>Child: &#8220;But are not you Ataturk?&#8221;</p>
<p>Ataturk: &#8220;Yes, I am child&#8221;</p>
<p>Child: &#8220;But&#8230;&#8221;</p>
<p>Ataturk: &#8220;Don&#8217;t worry about who I am&#8230; If you are going to raise this rose, you will feel pain.. your hand will bleed&#8230; the sun will make you sweat. There will be ones that will say you cannot raise a rose in this garden. There will be ones that say rose is not raised like that but their way. But you would ask yourself: &#8216;Do I like to turn this place into a rose garden?&#8217; &#8216;Do I want to raise world&#8217;s most beautiful roses in here?&#8217; If you really want it, you won&#8217;t care about any words or the thorn that stings your hand. No matter who you are, all you want would be&#8230;(breathes in the rose smell) to feel this smell&#8230; Do you understand?&#8221;</p>
<p>Child: &#8220;I understand&#8221;</p>
<p>Ataturk: &#8220;Good job, now continue&#8221;</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Â But a family in Washington changed my point of view to Squidoo and to overall marketing.<span id="more-44"></span>I am not a stranger of squidoo as a <a href="http://www.squidoo.com/lensmasters/mert">lensmaster</a>.</p>
<p>I nominate Joe and Colleen Lane, <a href="http://www.joelane.com" rel="nofollow">Richland Real Estate</a> agents to be the REALTORSÂ® of the year in the nation if not for their home state of Washington. Their <a href="http://www.squidoo.com/lensmasters/SemperFidelis" rel="nofollow">Squidoo lensmaster</a> page has become a family effort for them and their five children. They have written about anything and everything from the state of Washington along with many other subjects such as religion, SEO, to many famous people. In 8 months they have built 100s of beautifully thoughtout lenses. And why do I think they should be the REALTORSÂ® of the year. All their income from these hundreds of Squidoo pages go to charities such as <a target="_blank" href="http://www.squidoo.com/world-vision/" rel="nofollow">World Vision</a> (a sample of their great Squidoo lens work) and <a href="http://www.acumenfund.org/" rel="nofollow">Acumen Fund</a>. As a real estate professional with great insight in SEO he has also made sure to optimize his Squidoo pages (my next blog post) for maximum income effect for these charities.</p>
<p>What is my point???</p>
<p>Step #1 REALTORÂ® puts up great informational lenses</p>
<p>Step #2 REALTORÂ® makes this a family effort and gives income to Charity</p>
<p>Step #3 REALTORÂ® wins the goodwill of all people who will trust him/her to serve them.</p>
<p>Apply goodwill and social responsibility in everything (your own websites, community events sponsorship, volunteering). There is no marketing as face time with potential clients doing the good deed and actually feeling better about yourself. The Lane family has shown me the way of being good. I actually created a page about <a target="_blank" href="http://www.squidoo.com/falconliving/">Falcon Living</a>&#8217;s relationship with Peregrine Falcons who are the official city bird of Chicago. I also am lending all income from my lenses to create microloans at <a target="_blank" href="http://www.kiva.org/lender/mertsahinoglu">Kiva.org</a> to change lives.</p>
